So apparently there's this new activitypub server called LittleFedi which is in many ways like GoToSocial (which is what I'm running), except it has first class OpenBSD support (GTS requires using an unsupported compile flag). I don't think I can just migrate in place, which is a bit annoying, but maybe in the future I'll find a way to switch over. https://littlefedi.org/

@mischa Oh hello! I'm assuming you're running it on OpenBSD, how's the experience?

@gosha@gosha.net of course, in a OpenBSD VM on OpenBSD! Extremely smooth sailing.

@gosha I would not choose something that is 99% chance slop ("little computer people", really?) over gotosocial, but ymmv.

@sigrid Hmm, what makes you think it's slop? The FAQ says the author doesn't use AI (https://littlefedi.org/faq.html), and the vulnerability reporting timeline (https://littlefedi.org/security.html) is long enough to suggest (to my naive view) that no LLMs are used there either.

Its not "first class" for OpenBSD maybe? But I am running currently hosting my instance on OpenBSD here using snac2 ( https://codeberg.org/grunfink/snac2 ) and it has been great so far! Working on a little writeup for it. I'm not using a port or anything, just repo clone and make. It is nice and tiny.

@rooneymcnibnug I've tried snac before gotosocial but I could not deal with the UI and the poor compatibility with my fediverse client of choice (phanpy). I really like the idea though!
